SwapText – Privacy Policy
SwapText is a Chrome extension that finds and replaces text inside the text box you are editing. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
What stays on your computer
SwapText runs only on the tab where you open it, and only when you open it (Chrome's activeTab permission). The text you edit is read and changed locally in your browser and is never sent to us or to any third party.
Your last search and your saved replacement lists are stored with Chrome's local extension storage on your own computer.
What we do not collect
- No page content, text, browsing history or URLs are sent anywhere.
- No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties.
Payments (SwapText Pro only)
SwapText Pro is sold through ExtensionPay, with payments processed by Stripe. When you upgrade, ExtensionPay and Stripe receive the information needed to process the payment (such as your email address and payment details) under their own privacy policies. The extension then checks with ExtensionPay whether your subscription is active, using an anonymous identifier. We never see or store your card details.
Permissions
- activeTab and scripting – to run find & replace on the tab where you open SwapText, only at that moment.
- storage – to remember your last search, your replacement lists and your Pro status.
